Below you will find all the information needed for end of the season tournament for QA Soccer Club’s 7/8 Coed, 9-11 Boys, 9-11 Girls, and 12-14 Boys Divisions. It is extremely important to review this information in its entirety.
Location: All games for the 7/8 Coed, 9-11 Boys and 9-11 Girls Divisions will be played at Rt 18 Park in Centreville on Saturday, October 26th, with a rain date of November 2nd. Games for the 12/14 Boys Division will be played at Church Hill Park Turf on Tuesday, October 22, 2024 and Friday, October 25, 2024.
Style: This is a single elimination tournament. Winners from each game progress to the next round. There will be a consolation game for the 12-14 Boys Division to determine final placement.
Seeding: Teams will be seeded based on their regular season record and standings. See Tournament Brackets for game time and field location.
Rules: All games will follow the rules of the regular season.
Cards: Any player receiving a yellow card must exit the field of play. Such player may return to the field of play on the next substitution. Any player receiving a red card is not permitted to play in the remainder of game, and a substitution is not allowed for such player. Additionally, such players must miss the entire next game. Coaches receiving a yellow card may continue coaching. Coaches who receive a red card must leave the tournament site and not return until the conclusion of the tournament.
Duration: The duration of all games is as follows:
7/8 Coed Division: Forty (40) minutes in length. Each half is twenty (20) minutes in length with a five (5) minute halftime.
9-11 Boys and 9-11 Girls Divisions: Fifty (50) minutes in length. Each half is twenty-five (25) minutes in length with a five (5) minute halftime.
12/14 Boys Division: Seventy (70) minutes in length. Each half is thirty-five (35) minutes in length with a ten (10) minute halftime.
Ties: If the game ends in a tie there will be up to two (2) ten (10) minute overtime periods. If a team is in the lead after the first overtime period, they will be the winner. If neither team is in the lead after the first overtime period, there will be a second overtime period. If after two (2) overtime periods there is still no winner, then the winner will be determined by kicks from the penalty mark. This will be the best of five (5) penalty kick shootout.
The five (5) players selected by their coach to participate in the penalty kick shootout must be on the field at the end of the second overtime period, and not on the sideline. The penalty kicks will alternate between team and goalie. For example, team A will take the first kick, while team B’s goalie defends, then team B will take their kick, and team A will defend, this process will be repeated for all five (5) kicks, and so on as necessary.
If the game is still tied after the five (5) penalty kicks, the penalty shootout will continue, with one (1) additional penalty kick at a time, until a winner is decided. Players may not be recycled until all players have participated. The ball cannot be kicked until the referee blows the whistle. The goalie must have at least part of one foot touching, or in line with, the goal line at the time the ball is kicked.
Awards: Teams that make it to the Championship Game will receive an award. At the end of the game the teams will be presented their award.
Equipment: All league-issued soccer equipment must be turned in to the equipment shed after the team’s last game. All trash and other materials not issued by the league must be removed from the equipment bag prior to turning it in.
